INTERGEM 2021 – Innovation with conceptual changes

The new fair management of INTERGEM 2021 is bringing a fresh wind to the planning of the event, which has expanded over the course of the years. Mirko Arend, the new Managing Director of Intergem Messe GmbH, and Project Manager Selina Schmidt are fair experts who aim to use innovative concept ideas not only to offer a pleasant and high-class ambience to exhibitors and visitors, but also to work with and for the sector to establish the optimal prerequisites for the INTERGEM as a successful sales and marketing platform – both now and in the future.

In keeping with the motto “INTERGEM and Idar-Oberstein are ONE!” the entire value chain of the industry, which only exists in this form in the Idar-Oberstein region, will be represented. The excellent contacts to mine owners, the superb quality cuts of the premium coloured gemstones and diamonds and the design and working of the jewellery by top specialists and experts in their trade mean that this is the only place where trade visitors can be shown and offered special and unique pieces.
“ONE” also reflects the fact that the INTERGEM will be one of the first presence fairs in 2021 to offer a health and hygiene concept that enables the opportunity for direct interaction between exhibitors and visitors. And this contact is extremely important for the sale of stones and jewellery in particular, as online presentations are by no means an adequate substitute.

As an exception, this year will see the INTERGEM 2021 take place at the end of September, from Friday, 24 to Monday, 27 September. This will avoid clashes in the busy autumn fair calendar and thus give all interested exhibitors the opportunity to take part in the INTERGEM 2021.

Further new features are innovative and fresh stand concepts, developed in co-operation with the stand construction firm Cyborg and utilising large-format graphics and more open designs to present brands even more effectively. The new stands and modular stand concepts were unveiled to the exhibitors at an exhibitor meeting and met with great interest. The jewellery area is to be enhanced with the addition of a dedicated hall with matching appearance and stand design, in which trade visitors can gain an impression of the vast range of the offers. In addition, one day of the INTERGEM will give jewellers and goldsmiths the opportunity to bring two to a maximum of three of their top customers to the fair. Stronger involvement by social media is intended to focus on the uniqueness of the event at the Idar-Oberstein location and exhibiting firms whilst at the same time offering added value to trade visitors. The INTERGEM team is convinced that with the INTERGEM 2021 they are offering the first real fair highlight in Germany of 2021 as far as jewellery and gemstones are concerned and are looking forward avidly to the end of September, following the corona-related break.
